I think it’s fair to say we all want that healthy glow during these warmer months; actually all year long works for me too!
As I have had a melanoma in the past, and was very lucky to have caught it in in time, I am particularly careful when it comes to sunbathing during the warmer months, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting that healthy glow that comes along with a good tan.
So, what to do… my first thought, call my friend Lisa Liguori who owns Simple Beauty Minerals and find out if I had any makeup options. I told her I wanted to create that summer glow as if I had laid in the sun all day without the sun damage it comes with.
Lisa recommended the products she felt would work and then took the time to go over each one with me. It was like having a consult at a makeup counter only I was in my pajamas, having a glass of wine at the time.
So let me start with the In-The-Buff Eye Shadow Palette, this is a true multi-tasker and I didn’t even know that when I ordered it!
This is a shimmer and matte palette so you are getting the best of both worlds. I use my tweezers to pull off the plastic seal on each shadow and they are ready to use. I have worn it as an eyeshadow, blush, bronzer and highlighter. I use the lightest color, Whisper, by the very corner of my eye; it works beautifully. I also love the packaging on this. Initially I thought it might be more difficult because they are stacked; in fact, it is easier. I can literally go from one to the other, blend and reapply, it actually saves time! These colors wear on your skin even prettier than in the containers.
One of my favorite products in this line is the ‘Two in One’ Cream Crayons. This is my first time using Burnt Apricot. For me this is the perfect neutral, just enough coverage to create that subtle glow but not heavy on the lips at all.
In fact, light enough to layer with a gloss if that’s the look you are going for. I have used this as a liner as well as a full lip color.
Another multi tasker, this creates a beautiful glow on my cheeks and can even be used as a highlighter on my eyes. I have used it right below the browbone.
The Nutmeg Mineral Lipstick was a pleasant surprise. Typically when I see a color on line, it looks nothing like the color I receive in the mail. This color is actually richer in the tube and in my opinion, represents the colors of summer. This is gorgeous and I can’t say enough about it. It wears beautifully and when/if I reapply it, it goes on just as smooth as the first time. This is a buildable color that can be worn on its own or over a lip crayon and/or under a gloss. If feels creamy and hydrating which is an added bonus.
The Natural Glow Mineral Bronzer finishes the look with an amazing glow. This can be worn over makeup or tinted moisturizer but I must admit, I love this on its own!! It creates such a natural look that way.
It does not get greasy in any way, nor does it shine; it literally works with your skin to create your individual glow. It is considered a Universal Shade if you look at the description on the Simple Beauty Mineral site.
On all of the above-mentioned products you will find a ‘How To Use’ tab. This is a very user-friendly site and most questions can be answered by just scrolling through, as well as the application process. I thought by this age, 58, I knew exactly how to apply my makeup; well, I have learned there are so many more creative ways and I so much appreciate Lisa’s tutorials and step-by-step instructions.
If you go to Simple Beauty Minerals, your will find a ‘Get Started’ tab with sample packets and sets which is a wonderful opportunity to try these amazing products. You can use the gift code; awomanthing.
